Dear all,

Greetings!

The HABSEA Portal is the gateway to HAB information in Asia initially
emanating from the Southeast Asian countries. It has been created to
help educate and empower the various sectors of the society of the
Southeast Asian region particularly those involved in understanding and
managing Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB's) that could adversely affect human
health and fisheries, if not properly managed.

Information will range from the varied interpretation of HAB's which is
commonly referred to as red tides or toxic phytoplankton occurrence,
management strategies instituted, and varied source learning to enhance
understanding of the phenomenon. We hope you find this portal very
useful and in turn we welcome any contribution to this site to make it
more beneficial.

On behalf of the HABSEA Portal Editors, I would like to invite all of
you to view, comment and make suggestions for its improvement. Please
indicate your comments per page of the Portal which is found on the
right hand side. The web address is http://portal.unesco.org/habsea

Thank you very much.

Rhodora V. Azanza
