Dear Current and Former ISSHA Members,
It was quite clear from discussions at the 2nd General Assembly in =
Tasmania
(February 2000) that the ISSHA Statutes required revising. Therefore, =
an Ad
Hoc Statutes and Bylaws Committee was appointed during the ISSHA =
Executive
meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida (February 2001) to review and revise =
the
current Statutes for consideration and eventual ratification by the
Membership.
Jane Lewis, in consultation with the ISSHA Executive, kindly revised =
the
current Statutes. The proposed revised Statutes can be found at the =
ISSHA
website at http://www.cbr.nrc.ca/issha/New_ISSHA/Statutes-Proposed.htm. =
You
are invited to view and to provide your comments to the proposed =
revisions.
Please send your comments and suggested changes to Jane Lewis
(lewisjm@westminster.ac.uk), with a Cc to me, until 30 September, 2002.
Jane will then collate these comments and consider which changes will =
be
incorporated into a new version, with guidance from the ISSHA =
Executive. A
"voting version" will then be posted on the ISSHA website by 4 October.
Members will then have the opportunity to vote on the Revised Statutes,
article by article, at the General Assembly on Thursday evening, 24 =
October
2002, during the Xth International Conference on Harmful Algae in St. =
Pete
Beach, Florida.
This message is intended for all ISSHA members. However, we recently
removed from the ISSHA membership list a number of names of people who =
did
not renew their membership during the 2001 membership drive. So, =
please
check the membership list accessed from
http://www.cbr.nrc.ca/issha/New_ISSHA/Member_Index.html. If your name =
is no
longer there, then you have not renewed during 2001 or 2002 (or your =
new
membership is still being processed by Henrik Enevoldsen, ISSHA =
Treasurer).
We would most welcome your return to ISSHA. You can re-join by using =
the
membership form accessed from the above link. Kindly also send any
corrections to Nancy Lewis (Nancy.Lewis@nrc.ca), who is kindly helping =
me
maintain the membership list. Regards,
Stephen
ISSHA Secretary
