Second Announcement

7th Canadian Workshop on Harmful Marine Algae

May 23-25, 2001, Nanaimo, British Columbia, CANADA

The second circular requests participants to submit abstracts of
communications to be presented orally or in poster sessions (abstract
deadline is March 9, 2001). Topics for the workshop can include: ecology,
monitoring, management and socioeconomic impacts of toxic and harmful
blooms; toxin food web transfers; bioassay detection and chemical analytical
methodology; new bioactive metabolites; physiological, toxicological and
epidemiological studies; phycotoxin kinetics in marine organisms; and
development of strategies for mitigation.  The workshop will comprise oral
and poster presentations and round table discussions. 

Detailed information about venue, travel, accommodation and abstract
submittal guidelines for the CWHMA and details of the adjunct first Canadian
