Dear Colleagues,

We invite abstract submissions to two new sessions at the 2025 Joint March Meeting and April Meeting (March 16–21, 2025, in Anaheim, CA) that explore the intersection of AI and climate physics:

· Session 26.01.02: AI Applications in Weather and Climate
· Session 23.01.10: Machine Learning and Data Science for Climate

The abstract submission deadline is October 25, 2024, and submissions can be made through the APS website<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsummit.aps.org%2F&data=05%7C02%7Cgfd-list%40whoi.edu%7C310cd8b8c32b4b3c9c6908dcea15e0c3%7Cd44c5cc6d18c46cc8abd4fdf5b6e5944%7C0%7C0%7C638642626922625129%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=WgbOGlJ1rlYLx5ypVR28B7teXQYnpKQ7Za%2FBCeABoN8%3D&reserved=0>. We invite topics that include, but are not limited to, the following themes:
· Application of methods from physics to AI for climate-related applications
· Application of AI to understanding climate physics
· Application of AI to advance climate simulations

The invited speakers are:

Ashesh Chattopadhyay (UC Santa Cruz)
Michael Pritchard (University of California Irvine, NVIDIA)
Laure Zanna (NYU)
Tapio Schneider (Caltech)

On behalf of the APS GPC (Group on the Physics of Climate) and GDS (Group on Data Science) organizing committee
