[Flex] question about early October

Hi there-
Stace Beaulieu is planning another Software Carpentry workshop and is 
looking at Oct 3-4 for the dates.
She wants to know if these dates are OK.
I  told I would check with Those Who Know what's going on in the 
departments and with GCS to see if there are any major conflicts then.
Please let me know if you know of any proposal deadlines, other stuff 
going on that would make Oct 3-4 be problematic for the workshop.
