[Flex] Ghost Documents

Here is a tale of woe from the Feb 15 NSF deadline.
This wasn't my proposal, but I thought the story deserved a share.

WHOI was the non-lead. Stonybrook was the lead.
Stonybrook had uploaded something to the 'Single Copy Documents' and
then deleted it.
When you went to print the entire proposal, Fastlane threw a vague error
message.
WHOI called the Helpdesk and they looked at the proposal.
They could see a 'ghost document' that still existed in the Single Copy
Doc section.
They had the lead upload a blank Word doc in that section, then go to
"Print Entire Proposal", generate a pdf, then go back and delete that
blank doc.
And as strange as this all sounds, it worked and we were all able to
generate a full pdf again.

Not sure if there is a lesson learned here, other than as hard as you
might try to do something correctly a rouge ghost document can still
ruin your morning.

Hi Janet -

I cannot pull the entire proposal to print for my Grant and Contract
Services Office. I spoke with the Fastlane Help Desk and they talked me
through how to fix it, however I cannot do it on my end. When you
originally uploaded the letters of support into Additional Single Copy
Documents, it generated a "ghost" document in that section. You removed
the letters, but the ghost document remains and is giving me an error
message when I try to print.

I need you to upload a blank word document into the Additional Single
Copy documents section, select the print function to generate the
document into the proposal, then backtrack and delete that document. It
sounds pointless, but the gentleman I spoke to says it is the only way
to get the Print Entire Proposal function back.

Thanks,
Maggie
