Aha! After reading that last email I sent, Shirley now sees why we were
all so confused!
She was not saying that AOPE was told to put keyterms in the abstract.
Yes, yes, keyterms in keyterms field; abstract in abstract field. It
sounds like the confusion is with communicating how the searches are
done on abstracts and keyterms. I'll bet the GCS phone call was
explaining how the reports search abstracts. That can easily be confused
with keyterms - especially if you are just talking about it and not
doing it or seeing it demo'd (like we do in training).
On the web, you can search for any text string in either the titles or
the abstracts of awarded proposals.
In proposal log, you can search on a specific keyterm or any text string
in the abstract. Again, this is for awarded proposals only.
The text string search is a pretty powerful tool. I recommend you try it
if you haven't before:

So, don't change how you do anything when entering keyterms and
abstracts. Let's continue to avoid putting keyterms in the abstract
field!
