[Flex] 8/29/01 Meeting

Hey Y'all:

I missed you.  Flex is like therapy -- it is the one meeting I really
enjoy!

Ann Stone and I are meeting on Tuesday to get the Admin Pro Forum/Lunch
started up.  Claire passed on your suggestions: establishing a board,
etc. and they sound great.  Ann and I (at Kathy LaBernz' request) are
just going to get the first one off the ground...

Our new Staff Asst., Lucinda Gathercole, and I have been wrestling with
fonts lately -- not so much for Fastlane but for AGU (American
Geophysical Union).  They are mandating that manuscripts utilize Adobe
Postscript Fonts.  The long and short of all this was that we ended up
buying the Helvetica font from Adobe because AGU insisted that the
tables use Adobe Postscript Helvetica.  You may be saying "So what's her
point??" -- I just throw this out there because perhaps more journals
may start heading in this direction.  And, rather than us taking the
position of avoiding Helvetica, perhaps we should consider buying some
fonts??
