Data, software, and informatics folks -

Carly Strasser <https://www.moore.org/people-detail?personUrl=carlys>,
Program Officer for the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation's Data-Driven
Discovery initiative (and WHOI JP alum), will be giving a special
seminar on Monday, June 27, noon, Redfield:

Title: *Come In, We’re Open: The Changing Culture of Research*
Abstract: We are hearing more about open: open data, open access, open
source, open science, et cetera. More often, data sharing is requested
or required by funders, journals, publishers, and institutions. What
does this mean for how we do science? What are the implications for
individual researchers? I will provide an overview of the trends
towards openness in science, why this is a good thing, and how you can
participate.

Best regards, Stace
