Save the Date! The WHOI Ocean Informatics initiative, USGS Woods Hole, 
and MBLWHOI Library are sponsoring a:
*Software Carpentry Bootcamp in Woods Hole**
*The Software Carpentry <http://software-carpentry.org/index.html> 
Foundation is a non-profit volunteer organization whose members teach 
researchers basic software skills.
This is a hands-on, two-day event that will introduce core skills in the 
Unix shell, version control software, and Python programming. Short 
tutorials alternate with practical exercises, and all instruction is 
done via live coding.

**Sept. 3:*
AM: Unix shell and Version Control with Git,
PM: GitHub.
*Sept. 4:*
AM: Python,
PM: Advanced Python and IPython Notebooks.

You must register in order to attend the Bootcamp.
Space will be limited, and demand for the Bootcamp is high.
*The link to the registration will open on August 3.*
The Bootcamp itself will be on Thurs./Fri., September 3/4 at WHOI's 
Quissett Campus.
