Dear Data-Mongers,
You may be interested in joining this discussion at noon, tomorrow
(Friday), WHOI Smith Conf. Room:

RESEARCH DATA PUBLICATION: BENEFITS, CHALLENGES, AND OPPORTUNITIES
Join colleagues and MBLWHOI Library staff for a lunchtime discussion on
Friday, February 7, at noon in the Smith Conference Room. Audrey Mickle,
who recently joined WHOI as Data Librarian, will lead an open
conversation on the benefits and opportunities, as well as the resources
available for publishing scientific data--whether as part of a paper
publication or as a publication in itself. Publishing data helps
increase citation potential and improve the overall quality of available
scientific data.
Let's talk about how considering data preservation and access as part of
the publishing process can advance individual researchers and the
scientific community.
Bring your lunch. Refreshments will be served.
