[Data-Mongers] Informal Informatics Talks begin January 9, 2012

Happy New Year!

For 2012 we have combined our talks with WHIT - Woods Hole Information Technology talks that are sponsored by WHOI CIS.

Our first joint meeting will be Monday, January, 9, 12:15 PM at the WHOI Exhibit Center (Ocean Science Exhibit Center on map). 

(Note the new time and place)

We don't have a speaker scheduled for this meeting so we are opening it up for  Lightning Talks. 
Here is how it will work. Prepare to give a 3-5 minute presentation on a project you are working on or a cool tool or technique you have learned about or anything else informatics related... something that has grabbed your attention lately and you want to share with the group. Bring a laptop with you (and an adaptor for the projector) to show the slides or do the demo. 

Please email me before 11 am on Monday 1/9 if you plan to present.
