[Data-Mongers] Starting Tomcat (etc) on Mac OS X 10.6

Hi All -

Anyone running THREDDS - or other services that need to be
started at boot up - on Mac OS X? The procedure seems to vary
a lot with the OS version.

I'm running OS X 10.6, and I'm leaning towards using launchctl,
based on hours of browsing looking for up-to-date instructions.
This command seems a little convoluted, though.

Is my Tomcat startup script, /usr/local/apache-tomcat/bin/startup.sh
treated as a subcommand of launchctl, or does it need to be put into
/etc/launchd.conf?? To run Tomcat as a pseudo-user, do I just put the
su command in the Tomcat startup.sh?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Nan
