Hi everyone,

just wanted to call your attention to an upcoming special seminar about 
a very exciting project that has been developed up at the Harvard 
Institute for Quantitative Social Science and is related to efforts at 
the Harvard-MIT Data Center.

THE DATAVERSE NETWORK: A DIGITAL LIBRARY FOR RESEARCH DATA

Speaker: Merce Crosas

Merce Crosas, project director for the Dataverse Network Project, will
give a presentation on August 19, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bay Reading Room,
Lillie Building, MBLWHOI Library. Via Web application software, data
citation standards, and statistical methods, the Dataverse Network
Project increases scholarly recognition and distributed control for
those who produce or organize data; facilitates data access and
analysis; and ensures long-term preservation.
