[CINAR_PIs] WHOI news release on CINAR

The WHOI CINAR news release was issued yesterday:

We hope you will link to this site from your own institution's news 
releases, if you choose to issue one.  We expect that GMRI may be 
doing one to announce the recent awards?  It was also suggested that 
some sort of boilerplate paragraph be added to your own releases, 
such as the following paragraph:

"The Cooperative Institute for the North Atlantic Region engages both NOAA
and academic scientists in cutting-edge research important for making
informed decisions about sustainable and beneficial management of the
northwestern Atlantic shelf ecosystem."

If you want us to link any of your press releases from the CINAR 
webpage, we will be happy to do so.

We have learned that all the CINAR proposals that were processed in 
July have now been approved by NOAA Grants Management.  I expect that 
next week I will have the actual awards and can begin to issue 
subawards to GMRI and UMCES.

I am also pleased to report that we have hired someone to help me and 
Don with CINAR.  Her name is Ann Stone <astone at whoi.edu> and she will 
be working half-time with us.  I have added her name to the mailing 
lists we have for CINAR, such as the CINAR PIs list.  So now we can 
get some backlogged projects underway, such as enhancing the CINAR 
web site.
