Monitoring Wildlife from Space with AI: Capabilities and Constraints
Satellite remote sensing combined with deep learning is opening new opportunities to monitor wildlife from orbit, from southern right whale breeding grounds to belugas in the Arctic and even schools of fish. Computer vision techniques are advancing rapidly, and in this talk, I will discuss how they can contribute to wildlife tracking and conservation in both marine and terrestrial systems.
