[All-postdocs] lab equipment question

Hi everyone,

I am trying to track down some equipment that I need for my research and am hoping the WHOI postdoc community could help. I suspect there are several labs at WHOI that may have this equipment that I could use but I’m not sure who to ask so I figured I would start with all of you. Specifically, I am looking for an Isomet slow speed saw (something like this<https://www.buehler.com/isoMet-low-speed-cutter.php>) and a manual grinder polisher (something like this<https://www.buehler.com/ecoMet-30-manual-grinder-polisher.php>). I know that the fish ecology lab has both of these but I wanted to look to see what else is out there since the ones in the fish ecology lab may not work for various reasons (for example, I need the grinder polisher to be connected to water). If you know of anything that might work in your lab, let me know! I realize that just because they might exist doesn’t mean I could necessarily use them, especially with COVID restrictions – just trying to get a sense for what is out there at this point.

Thanks so much!

Cheers,
Nina
