Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary will present its 25-year-old Cape Cod 
Natural History Conference online for the first time this year so anyone 
at home can listen to experts from local environmental organizations 
share their knowledge. Topics will include cataloguing the Cape’s white 
sharks, the success of sea turtle rehabilitation, preparing for sea 
level rise, moths at the beach and the return of bald eagles to the area.

*Cape Symphony back for a live-stream event*

For the first time in 13 months, Cape Symphony musicians will perform 
under artistic director/conductor Jung-Ho Pak for a concert they 
consider a gift to Cape Cod. The one-time performance will feature 13 
musicians spread in a distanced way to play together at Cotuit Center 
for the Arts. The concert will feature American composer Aaron Copland's 
“Suite from Appalachian Spring” that includes “Simple Gifts.” Symphony 
officials consider the show a gift to the Cape community in 
gratitude for what executive director Michael Albaugh said is local 
residents' “loyalty and support.”

Author Robert Johnson Jr. will give a virtual talk about his bestselling 
debut novel “The Prophets” as part of the free Castle Hill Author Talks 
series by Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill. Johnson's book is 
described as “a tale of the union between two enslaved men on a Deep 
South plantation, the refuge they find in each other, and a betrayal 
that threatens their existence.”

The Provincetown Theater is partnering with the Capital Classics Theatre 
Company of Hartford, Connecticut, to produce a Zoom conversation with 
performance excerpts from Athol Fugard's one-act play “Victory” on 
Saturday, March 13, at 7 PM. Streaming free-of-charge, a link to the

South Africa's most-acclaimed playwright sets his play in 1994, after 
the country's first free election. The story features two adolescents 
discovered while robbing a home, which leads to a night of dialogue 
revealing the hardships of living in apartheid-created poverty. Mr. 
Fugard's powerful play examines the despair of many young Black citizens 
in South Africa who see little prospect of a constructive future.

The play's three-member cast—Eric Nesmith, Geoffrey Sheehan and Tonille 
Simone Watkis—will perform scene readings, directed by Jan Mason. In 
between the excerpts, in a moderated conversation with the artists, the 
audience will discuss the play's themes and their relevance and 
resemblance to our world today. The presentation is part of Capital 
Classic’s civic dialogue series, “Contemporary Classics Conversations.”

The New England Aquarium has continued to strictly observe COVID safety 
regulations since reopening, but that doesn’t mean the institution can’t 
have a little fun as well. Every Friday night until 8 p.m. in the month 
of March, the aquarium will host themed Aquarium After Dark nights, 
including Tropical Night (March 5), Advocate For Climate Change (March 
12), and It’s Not Easy Being Green (March 19), which is timed perfectly 
for St. Patrick’s Day weekend. You’ll be able to see the aquarium as 
you’ve likely never seen it before, with the lights dimmed to emulate 
the sea creatures’ natural nighttime environment. The Giant Ocean Tank, 
in particular, looks completely different when the sun goes down.
