Dear WHOI Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Postdocs and Students,
There is an increasing social and economic pressure to produce more food and energy from the oceans in a sustainable way. WHOI scientists, engineers, technical staff, postdocs, and students are well positioned for the development of monitoring tools, protocols, and models for predicting and measuring ecosystem impacts and services associated with ocean aquaculture.
With support from WHOI’s Research Opportunity funding, we will be hosting a virtual scoping workshop on Aquaculture Research on Wednesday April 7 from 9:30 - 11:30 am. All are welcome regardless of whether or not you have prior experience in this area.
The main goals of the workshop will be to: (1) understand current WHOI expertise and interest in this area, (2) provide WHOI researchers with an overview of related funding opportunities, and (3) identify gaps in WHOI expertise and facilities that may be a barrier to researcher's ability to compete for federal aquaculture funding.
Please take 2 minutes to respond to this survey <https://bit.ly/2NSGoRz> in order to register for the workshop by March 26. Further details including an agenda will be sent out in the coming weeks.
Best regards,
Matt Charette
