[All-postdocs] TAKE ACTION! Petition for WHOI to Divest from Fossil Fuels

Dear Grad Students and Postdocs of WHOI,

Today is Global Fossil Fuel Divestment Day! Please read and sign this letter of support,<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bykEYrnAt_ltXmRNZcwan5uk5Qpj4waXOsRzvVHp0ws/edit?usp=sharing> written by the Fossil Free @ WHOI Core Team, to show our Director and Board of Trustees that WHOI students support urgent climate action by removing WHOI's investments from fossil fuel corporations.

Students across the world, including over 50 campuses in the US, are taking unprecedented action today for #fossilfueldivestmentday<https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/fossilfueldivestmentday?source=feed_text&epa=HASHTAG>. We are demanding our universities divest from fossil fuel corporations that are poisoning our air, waters, and land and reinvest in regenerative, community-controlled economies that put people first. For more information on the movement, see attached Boston Globe op-ed written by Harvard, Boston University, and Boston College students.

Mark Abbott and the Board of Trustees are aware of this growing movement, and we have already been in productive communication. This letter will help demonstrate the body of support for the divestment movement and climate action at WHOI. Email me or Mara Freilich with any questions.
