Hi all,
I've gotten a few messages of confusion related to Faith's announcement.
I'd like to clarify that the SWMS organization that exists, and which Gabi,
Jessica, Mara and I are involved in, is the central organization that is
currently working on becoming a non-profit. We are not a SWMS chapter, and
we do not organize smaller-scale events at WHOI. Although SWMS started at
WHOI/MIT and the central organization currently has strong representation
from the Joint Program, the forthcoming non-profit version of SWMS will be
a national organization that does not focus on WHOI-based programming.
I hope that folks will sign up to be part of a SWMS chapter, because I
definitely want the tradition of SWMS to remain active here at WHOI and in
Woods Hole in general.
Best,
Chrissy
