Hello WHOI postdocs,
We are having our first coffee hour of 2019 next month in the WHOI/MBL
library. Specifically, on March 7th at 2 PM we will visit the Rare
Books Room at the library. Come see a Nobel Prize, to a death mask, to
books printed in the 16th century. We will meet for coffee on the
second floor of the library in the Grass Reading Room, which is to the
left off of the library lobby, and then enter the rare books room from
there.

Information about the rare books room:
The Rare Books Room is a climate-controlled environment containing
approximately 5300 volumes of works from the 16th - 20th centuries
covering such diverse topics as early taxonomy, evolution, genetics,
geology, physical oceanography, and natural history. Housed within the
Rare Books Room is an extensive collection of books on oceanic voyages
and expeditions encompassing journeys all around the world, including
the polar regions.

On behalf of your PDA,
