As populations continue to grow and demand for food rises, the role of 
water in meeting future food needs will become increasingly critical. 
This year’s MIT Water Summit will focus on issues at the heart of the 
food-water nexus, reflecting on the role of water in food production – 
both in agriculture and aquaculture – and the innovation, policy, and 
technologies required to support healthy and sustainable communities.

On November 6-7, representatives from industry, academia, government, 
and NGOs will convene at MIT to discuss issues at the heart of the 
food-water nexus. The two-day conference will include keynote speeches 
from*Professor Chandra Madramootoo (McGill Water Innovation Lab)*,*Rajiv 
Singh (CEO of Rabobank North America*) and*Christopher Briggs (Executive 
Director of the Water Footprint Network)*. Panelist speakers also 
include thought leaders from the across the sector such as*Liese 
Dallbauman (PepsiCo), Steve Winnett (EPA), Steven Schonberger (World 
Bank), Eliza Roberts (Ceres), Annette Huber-Lee (Stockholm Environment 
Institute)*, and many more!
