A reminder about our upcoming events, starting with cookies and data at 
noon today!

    Hi All,

    There are several fabulous upcoming events, and I didn't want you to
    miss out on any of them, so I've provided a summary below.  Mark
    your calendars now!  We hope to see you out and about at one or all
    of these events!

    May 24
    *Data Storage Talk*
    Please join us on Today, May 24 at 12:00pm in the Smith Conference
    Room (Village) for a brown-bag lunch on best practices for data
    handling.
    Keith Glavin, Senior Director of WHOI's IS Department, and Ron
    Peterson, IS Director of Infrastructure and Operations, will present on:
    "The current and future data storage/backup environments at WHOI"
    Cookies and beverages provided.
    Bring your lunch, your questions on data storage, memory handling,
    and backup opportunities at WHOI.

    May 26
    *Postdoc Spring Picnic*
    Bring your family (we'll have games and snacks for the kids!) or a
    friend to the Summer Postdoc Picnic on Thursday, May 26 outside the
    WHOI Postdoc Lounge (Caryn House in the Village).
    Stop by to break out the lawn games and munch on snacks anytime
    after 4pm.
    We'll fire up the BBQ and start serving grill-ables at 5pm.

    May 31
    *International Committee Buffet*
    On Tuesday, May 31st from 4:30 -7pm in Clark 507, the International
    Committee will be hosting their annual "International Cultural
    Buffet".  This is always a fun event  and a great opportunity for
    international postdocs to share with the community an aspect of your
    culture or travels.
    Pizza, salad, and plenty of refreshments will be provided.  There's
    no obligation to bring anything unless you would like to.  Most
    important is that you come, meet new people and enjoy!  Please feel
    free to bring along your family or a friend.
    If I can help you with anything that you would like to share or
    display please let me know.

    June 1
    *Graduate Reception*
    On Wednesday, June 1 at 3:30 PM in Clark 507 to honor the September
    2015, February 2016, and June 2016 MIT-WHOI Joint Program Degree
    Recipients

    June 7
    *Employee Appreciation Celebration*
    On Tuesday, June 7th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on McKee Ball field under
    the tent. Food, drink and appreciation of all of our employees and
    postdocs offered up.
