UK National Theatre Live's Broadcast of Shakespeare's
"As You Like It"
TONIGHT and TOMORROW
Live broadcast at Falmouth Academy (right near the Falmouth Bus Station)
*June 24 at 7:00 p.m. and June 25 at 2:00 p.m.*
Shakespeare's glorious comedy of love and change comes to the National
Theatre for the first time in over 30 years, with Rosalie Craig (London
Road, Macbeth at MIF) as Rosalind.
With her father the Duke banished and in exile, Rosalind and her cousin
Celia leave their lives in the court behind them and journey into the
Forest of Arden. There, released from convention, Rosalind experiences
the liberating rush of transformation. Disguising herself as a boy, she
embraces a different way of living and falls spectacularly in love.

*Woods Hole Japanese exhibit this summer at the Woods Hole Historical
Collection*
*Gallery One *will feature an exhibit on Japan and its scientific
connection with our local Woods Hole scientists. The exhibit will
highlight the careers of Edward Sylvester Morse, Patricia Morse, Ken
Buesseler, and Katsuma Dan, and the 1975 visit of Emperor Hirohito to
the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the Marine Biological
Laboratory. It is interesting to note that Highfield Hall is presenting
a sixty-year retrospective of modern Japanese prints this summer that
will coincide with the Japanese spirit of our exhibit in Gallery One.
*Gallery Two* will feature an exhibit on commercial fishing on Cape Cod.
Historic Cod Fishing will look at what it was like during the glory days
of cod fishing more than 100 years ago when cod was king. There will be
vintage photos, illustrations, charts, and films, along with old fishing
gear, clothing, and nautical artifacts to see and touch. Plans include a
talk by John Cumbler on June 28. He will discuss “Cod and the Cape” and
how cod fishing has changed over the years.

We were asked to provide this info on Getting to NEW YORK CITY
If you drive to Providence, you can catch the Amtrak
<https://www.amtrak.com/home> train to NYC, which takes about 3 hours
...take the bus to Boston <https://peterpanbus.com/>, and the rail trip
is 3 1/2-4 hours, bus is a little longer (though much less expensive)
...you can also drive to New Haven, Ct. and take the inexpensive
commuter rail <http://www.mta.info/mnr> from there into Manhattan.
You can fly from Hyannis, Martha's Vineyard <www2.jetblue.com/>, and
Boston <https://www.expedia.com/> to NYC, sometimes airfares are the
same or cheaper than rail.
There is also ferry service
<https://seastreak.com/ferry-routes-and-schedules/> from Martha's
Vineyard to NYC, though generally it runs Friday from NYC to MV, and
Sunday MV to NYC
There is also Peter Pan Bus <https://peterpanbus.com/> service from
Woods Hole. And also Megabus <https://www.megabus.com/> service from
Fairhaven to NYC, costing as little as $1!
These are just a few of the ways to get to NYC.
