[All-postdocs] Invite from a local Python Study Group

Calling all Python Enthusiasts!

CapePy has been formed to provide a platform to learn, practice, and share
Scientific Python for people of all skill levels. Our first meeting will be
held next Wednesday, 12th August (Wednesday) from 6.30 to 8.30 PM in the
Bay Room of the Falmouth Public Library on Main Street.

6:30-7:00 Greetings and general python (help installing/setting up)
7:00-8:30 An introduction to machine learning with scikit-learn.

For our first meeting, Johanna Hansen will walk through a scikit-learn
tutorial session given at the 2015 SciPy Convention.  We will start with
core concepts of machine learning, and show some example cases of using
machine learning in the real world. We will also discuss how to pick an
algorithm for specific applications, how to set parameters, and how to
evaluate performance of a system.

If you would like to attend next Wednesday, please download the SciPy 2015
sklearn tutorial repository from
https://github.com/amueller/scipy_2015_sklearn_tutorial and follow the
installation instructions on the README page. Feel free to contact Johanna
at jh1736 at gmail.com for installation assistance.
