Dear WHOI postdocs, cc Jim,
NSF's EarthCube is aimed at developing a community-led infrastructure of
computing and data-related components intended to assist researchers in
conducting new, unprecedented science. (More here
<http://earthcube.org/home>)
EarthCube is holding its first /science-focused/ All Hands Meeting,
<http://earthcube.org/info/about/2015-all-hands-meeting> May 27-29, in
Arlington, VA.
The theme of this meeting is “Integrating geoscience and technology to
enable new discoveries: building synergy for open science.”

If you are a researcher with technical challenges or barriers preventing
you from answering pressing research questions, or are interested in
seeing what new computing and data related technologies will allow you
to discover and access more data, this All Hands Meeting is for you.
Here is also where your voice as a scientist can help shape the
EarthCube cyberinfrastructure development.

There are several early career travel grants available for this meeting.
No deadline is specified, but applications should be submitted as soon
as possible for the best chance of award. More information:
http://earthcube.org/node/1673.

Also, please feel free to contact us, if you'd like to learn more.
Best regards,
Stace Beaulieu, coordinator, WHOI Ocean Informatics initiative
Danie Kinkade, At-Large Member for Oceanography, EarthCube Leadership
Council
