A red-brown dense bloom extending offshore and seen from the Washington State ferry. The full extent of the bloom not known.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I saw numerous very healthy and mobile Ceratium fusus mixed with some other thecate dinoflagellates in a field microscope.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Ceratium fusus has been implicated in larval shellfish, shrimp and fish mortality and is very common this time of year in inlets and bays, particularly of Southern Puget Sound. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>J.E.
