<p class=MsoNormal>As anticipated, a Heterosigma bloom is developing in North
Puget Sound in the eastern Bays and spreading out into the main body of the
sound in areas immediately north of Cypress Island-Guemes Island and to the
east. Aerial observations and ground truthing were conducted 28 July 2009 and
sampling will continue. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>Extremely warm temperatures, vertical stratification from
river runoff, mild winds and neap tides are combining to exacerbate the situation.
I recommend that others increase their vigilance and please share your
