2pm in the historic Jam Kitchen along with demonstrations of old-fashioned strawberry jam making. Browse in the unique Mercantile offering Green Briar jams and a wide variety of nature-related books, gifts and toys. Stroll the paths of the award-winning
Wildflower Garden and the grounds around the “Smiling Pool” pond. View the gallery exhibit featuring the life and works of the renowned children’s author and conservationist Thornton W. Burgess. His stories of Peter Rabbit and animal friends have introduced
generations of children to a love of wildlife and appreciation for the natural world. Many events are scheduled throughout 2024 in celebration of Burgess’ 150<sup>th</sup> Birthday!<o:p></o:p></span></p>

</span>June, July and August<span style="font-weight:normal">, an informal guided tour of the award-winning Shirley G. Cross Wildflower Garden is conducted at the Green Briar Nature Center & Jam Kitchen. The one-third acre garden contains over 300 plants,
and each week offers new to discover. Whether in bloom or going to seed, the flowers are always changing. Reservations are not required for this drop-in program. The fee of $10 members, $12 non-members, helps support maintenance of this special garden ,
