resources as well as overseeing and participating in some of the Reserve’s monitoring programs. The Reserve serves as an active research facility, outdoor classroom, recreational facility, and management demonstration area. Coordinating these uses while protecting
the underlying natural resources that they rely on is the responsibility of the Stewardship Coordinator. The Stewardship Coordinator will work as part of a team with the Reserve’s Research Coordinator, Education Coordinator, Coastal Training Program Coordinator,
the Forest and Parks Supervisor and the Reserve Manager. The long-term health of the Reserve’s resources is dependent on land use in the entire watershed, and since the Reserve has regulatory jurisdiction only on DCR owned lands and not on the open water within
the Reserve, the person in this position will also work closely with local and state officials, and with local land owners. The Stewardship Coordinator will also oversee aspects of the Reserve monitoring programs, including but not limited to the Habitat Mapping
and Change Analysis, and Sentinel Site/Salt Marsh Observatory. (Full job description can be found on the above link.)
