non-profit educational institution located in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, teaching innovative, rigorous, environmental science programs for high school, gap year, and undergraduate students on our campus in Woods Hole, and aboard our purpose designed sailing
research vessels, SSV </span><em><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:Raleway;color:#4A4A4A;border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in">Corwith Cramer</span></em><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:Raleway;color:#4A4A4A"> and SSV </span><em><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:Raleway;color:#4A4A4A;border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in">Robert
C. Seamans</span></em><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:Raleway;color:#4A4A4A"> in the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Pacific. These undergraduate semester courses consist of intensive classroom instruction complemented by a 4- to 7-week research cruise
to execute independent student research. Teaching responsibilities include two semester programs and selected seminars or academic support projects each year. The position is a renewable appointment for nine months of work paid over a twelve-month period,
involving up to 14 weeks per year at sea in the role of Chief Scientist with the remaining 25 weeks of work based in Woods Hole (Falmouth), MA.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:Raleway;color:#4A4A4A">The successful candidate will pursue a professional agenda of innovative interdisciplinary teaching and excellent scholarship and possess the desire to join and contribute to a deeply committed
educational community. Successful applicants will have a strong background in marine molecular ecology and oceanography and will be expected to teach courses that cover a variety of topics including marine ecology, marine biology, oceanography, and oceanographic
field methods. Experience with eDNA techniques is desirable as is the ability to work in collaboration with marine policy and conservation faculty. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will join the faculty of SEA Semester Marine Biodiversity and
Conservation in the spring of 2022. The successful candidate will also supervise independent student research projects carried out at sea. A Ph.D. in biological oceanography or marine biology is required with field and teaching experience desired.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
