AFS</a> is a professional organization dedicated to strengthening the fisheries profession, advancing fisheries science, and conserving fisheries resources. The Southern New England Chapter plans events to exchange fisheries science information in the states
 of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. If you have never heard of the American Fisheries Society &#8211; the meeting in January is a perfect opportunity to learn about us!<br>

The two keynote speakers include: Dr. John Farrell from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry talking about &quot;<i>Longitudinal Studies &amp; Research on the St. Lawrence River: Ecological Change, Habitat, &amp; Fisheries</i>&quot;, and Dr. Lisa Kerr from Gulf
 of Maine Research Institute will speak about &quot;<i>Climate Challenges to Fisheries Management in a Rapidly Changing Ecosystem</i>&quot;. Four organized symposia will cover topics including &quot;Big Rivers&quot;, &quot;Research in Support of Sustainable Seafood&quot;, &quot;Fish as Indicators
