From 11am to 3pm Green Briar celebrates this native berry so prominent in the history of Cape Cod with cooking demonstrations in its historic 1903 Jam Kitchen using traditional cranberry recipes. Enjoy a <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:150%'>cranberry apple crumble dessert served in the kitchen for a $5 fee.<span style='color:red'> </span> Check out the homemade cranberry treats bake sale, and join a tour of the neighboring cranberry bog at 11am or at 1:15pm for a $3 fee per person. Families are invited to a “Frog in the Bog” Story Time at noon as well as some time for fun crafts. View the gallery exhibit covering the life and works of the prolific children’s author and naturalist, Thornton W. Burgess; look for the Queen Bee in the indoor bee hive; browse in Green Briar’s Mercantile offering our jams, jellies, Burgess books, and a wide variety of unique and nature–related items. Visit the nature center’s resident animals and stroll the grounds around the Smiling Pool . . . a special spot in all seasons!
