<p class="CZ-MailSubhead">CZM to Hold Information Sessions on the Coastal Resilience and Coastal Pollutant Remediation Grant Programs<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="CZ-MailParagraph"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) anticipates the release of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 Requests for Responses (RFRs) for
<a href="https://www.mass.gov/service-details/coastal-resilience-grant-program">Coastal Resilience Grants</a> and
<a href="https://www.mass.gov/service-details/coastal-pollutant-remediation-cpr-grant-program">
Coastal Pollutant Remediation (CPR) Grants</a> this spring. CZM administers both of these grant programs on behalf of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA). The
<a href="https://www.mass.gov/service-details/coastal-resilience-grant-program">Coastal Resilience Grant Program</a> provides funding to coastal communities to reduce risks associated with coastal storms, flooding, erosion, and sea level rise through innovative
and transferable local initiatives. Eligible projects include efforts to increase awareness and understanding of climate impacts, assess vulnerability and risk, plan for changing conditions, and redesign vulnerable public facilities and infrastructure. Additionally,
both coastal communities and eligible nonprofits may seek funding for non-structural (or green infrastructure) approaches that enhance natural resources and provide storm damage protection. CZM’s
<a href="https://www.mass.gov/service-details/coastal-pollutant-remediation-cpr-grant-program">
CPR Grant Program</a> provides funds to municipalities within the <a href="https://www.mass.gov/service-details/coastal-pollutant-remediation-cpr-grant-program-eligible-communities">
Massachusetts Coastal Watershed</a> for a variety of projects that address local nonpoint source stormwater pollution issues, including water quality assessment, the design and construction of structural Best Management Practices (BMPs), and commercial boat-waste
pumpout facilities. In advance of the release of the RFRs, CZM will host four information sessions to discuss the goals and requirements of the two grant programs, answer questions, and provide feedback on potential project ideas:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
