    <p class="MsoNormal"><span

        &quot;Times New Roman&quot;">The 4<sup>th</sup> Offshore Energy
        Storage (OSES) Symposium,
        the first time in the US, will be held July 12-14, 2017 at the
        Woods Hole
        Oceanographic Institution [WHOI] in Clark 507.<span
          style="mso-spacerun:yes"> 
        </span>Nils Bolgen, Wind Program Director at the Massachusetts
        Clean Energy
        Centre [MassCEC], will be at WHOI on Wednesday, July 12, to make
        a
        presentation at OSES on "<i>Leading Strategic Investment in
          Clean Energy
          Systems</i>" at 3:00 p.m. There will be an introduction by
        WHOI President
        and Director, Mark Abbott, to open OSES on Tuesday.<span
          style="mso-spacerun:yes">  </span>Fifty presentations
        including panel
        discussions are scheduled (see <a
          href="https://www.osessociety.com/oses2017">https://www.osessociety.com/oses2017</a>)
        over the three days.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">  </span>The
        topics include
        offshore power generation by wind, tide, and waves; energy
        storage to reduce
        the requirements for delivery ashore while providing power as
        needed despite
        irregular environmental sourcing; and financial, policy, and
        assessment of the
        resource.<br>

        providing this facility, there will be an IEEE/Oceanic
        Engineering Society
        Chapter meeting open to the entire community for free with talks
        by the
        organizers, Rupp Carriveaux, Seamus Garvey, and Tony Santo at
        5:30 p.m., in
        Clark 507 on Friday, July 14.</span></p>
