of the Barnstable Land Trust’s property at Coombs Bog. Coombs Bogs is a charming 6.55-acre oasis located at the headwaters of the Bumps River in Centerville. The land encompasses two shallow ponds and three former cranberry bogs, which have reverted to various
states of wildness – grassy meadows, shrubby fields, woods and swamps. A natural trail system connects to 12 acres purchased with Town Land Bank funds, offering views of two ponds and three bogs, each in a different state of succession.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Coombs Bog teems with birds, turtles and frogs as well as numerous unusual species of plants. It is the perfect
place to study nature and the cycles of life. With sounds of wildlife all around, the old cart paths, once used to maintain the cranberry bogs, now encourage the quiet, contemplative walks cherished by all those who love being outdoors.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Participants should dress appropriately for ticks and the weather. The program will meet at Coombs Bog which is
