<p style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px;">Salt Marshes are one of the most biologically-productive ecosystems on Earth and can be viewed as the “nurseries of the ocean.” The plants and animals they support have proved invaluable
to Cape Codders for thousands of years. Join Dr. John Cumbler as he discusses the crucial role salt marshes have played in shaping the human history of Cape Cod.</p>

<p style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px;">Dr. John Cumbler is a retired history professor from the University of Louisville. He has written seven books including <em>Cape Cod: An Environmental History of a Fragile Ecosystem</em>.
Besides having held fellowships with the ACLS and the National Endowment For The Humanities, he held the John Adams Distinguished Fulbright Chair in the Netherlands and is a Honorary Fellow at the University of Warwick, England. He is a trained and certified
rescuer of large marine mammals and sea turtles.</p>
