BREWSTER, MA The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster
announces its dates for the 2017 Field Guide Training Course. <b> Two
Tuesday Sessions: March 7& April 11, 2017<br>
9am-12pm & Four Tuesday Sessions March 14 - April 4; 9am-2pm…Total of
Six Sessions.<br>

</b> If you have a yen to learn about the natural history of Cape
Cod, Wing Island, and the Stony Brook Valley area, and if you enjoy
talking with others and sharing what you’ve learned, then come join a
like-minded group of individuals and become a volunteer field guide at
Cape Cod’s Nature Place, The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History.

The 2017 Field Guide Training Course begins on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 and
continues on 6 consecutive Tuesday mornings through April 11th plus 4
afternoons, March 14 – April 4. Morning sessions begin at 9:00 AM
and end at 12:00 Noon. Each morning session includes a presentation
and a walk across Wing Island to Cape Cod Bay (i.e. appropriate dress
including waterproof boots is required). Afternoon sessions with
special presentations are from 12:45 PM to 2:00 PM. <br>
<br>
New guides will learn about the natural history of Cape Cod in general
and the Stony Brook Valley and Wing Island in Brewster in
particular. Veteran guides are invited to participate to prepare
for the new season of leading school walks and family walks throughout
the spring, summer and fall. <br>
<b> <br>
Non-member: $100/ Museum member <u>OR</u> current volunteer:
$75</b> <br>
<b>Museum member <u>AND</u> current volunteer: $50.<br>
</b> <br>
The course includes lunches, comprehensive study guide and Museum gear/ID
for volunteer guides. A course fee rebate of $50 will be given to those
who volunteer for 20 hours, May – August. This is the equivalent of 5
indoor shifts or 5 walks.<br>
