<i>&nbsp;</i></b>BREWSTER, MA  The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in

Brewster is proud to present <i>Seabirds of Stellwagen Bank National

Marine Sanctuary</i> as part of NOAA’s Children’s Sanctuary educational

outreach program<i> </i><b>Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1pm.<br><br>

</b>Did you know that Cape Cod and our national marine sanctuary are

famous for seabirds?! These athletic animals spend much of their lives in

the ocean and have developed some extreme survival strategies – some fly

tens of thousands of miles a year, plunge dive at 60 miles an hour, or

spin in circles to whirlpool food to the water’s surface.&nbsp; Birders

love to watch them and researchers love to study them because they give

us clues to the health of the ocean.&nbsp; <br><br>

Come to the Museum and eat like a seabird, build a bird with your own

extreme adaptations, discover what your wing span is, and follow a

satellite-tagged Shearwater on an 18,000 mile trip.&nbsp; You will leave

with a new appreciation for these important animals and be ready to

identify some that we can see on Cape Cod every day.<br><br>

Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary is famous for its whales and

fish and also its seabirds. Stellwagen Bank&nbsp;&nbsp; has developed

educational and outreach programs to promote awareness, understanding and

protection of these important animals.<br><br>
