It utilizes existing, peer-reviewed DOSITS content to provide a condensed electronic resource that focuses on how animals use, produce, and receive sound, as well as an overview of the effects of sound on marine life. Several of the topics discussed in this book are areas of current and active scientific research and new information is integrated into the eBook as peer-reviewed publications become available.</span><span class="" style="font-family: Arial;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="" style="font-family: Arial;">The content in this book is based on the <i class="">Discovery of Sound in the Sea (DOSITS)</i> project, including its website - </span><a href="http://www.dosits.org" class=""><span class="" style="font-family: Arial;">www.dosits.org</span></a><span class="" style="font-family: Arial;">. The DOSITS content is based on well-understood scientific principles, peer-reviewed literature, and high quality sources of scientific data. Independent, scientific experts, who specialize in underwater acoustics, have reviewed all of the eBookâs content.
