Due to popular demand, artist and art educator, Eve Aspinwall returns to
the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster for a fall session of
Drawing and Painting from Nature.

Connecting to nature through art is a relaxing and uplifting
activity that ties together observation, contemplation, inspiration and
personal growth. This course is for adults interested in experiencing
nature as an avenue for art and self-expression while developing drawing
and painting skills. Basic tools, materials and techniques will be
demonstrated and students will be free to experiment with color media of
their choice, including watercolor, color pencils, pastel, and acrylic.
We will spend part of each class looking at examples of various artists’
methods of creating images based on the observation of the natural world.
When the weather is fine we can work outdoors on the beautiful grounds of
the Museum. In case of rain there will be still life objects provided by
the instructor or students can bring their own. Everyone will be
encouraged to find their own individual mode of expression, from realism
to abstraction. Ample one-on-one attention will be provided as well as
group critiques in a supportive atmosphere. Beginners and all levels
welcome.

For the first class, bring 2B pencils, soft vine charcoal, a kneaded
eraser and a 9x12 (or larger) sketchbook. Those wishing to use color
media must provide their own materials, including a portable easel for
painting outdoors.
