Work as a public outreach representative, helping to operate
our public educational and retail kiosk on MacMillan Pier opposite the
CCS dock where our research and rescue vessels are located. You will
welcome visitors, increasing public awareness of CCS marine research and
conservation work. You will also recruit new members and sell CCS
merchandise. Must enjoy working with the public, become familiar with
our various research projects, and have enough energy to spend several
hours at a time outside in summer.

Volunteers do not need extensive background in order to be great representatives; we will provide orientation and
training for volunteers in June as well as ongoing educational activities throughout the summer.

This
would be a good activity for marine science students as well as for
permanent or part time Cape Cod residents concerned about our coastal
environment. The possibility for students to
create and incorporate short term projects into their experience at CCS also exists. We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 hours per week for
6-8 weeks. We are very flexible.

For applications and for further information please contact:
