BREWSTER, MA The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster
continues its popular archaeology/history series, <i>Digging into the
Past, </i>with author Jack Sheedy <br>
<b>Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 1pm.<br>
<br>
</b>Jack’s presentation will include some of the stranger and perhaps
overlooked stories about the Cape from his 2 most recent books
co-authored with Jim Coogan, <i>Cape Cod Collected</i> and <i>Cape
Odd</i>.<br>
<br>
<i>Cape Cod Collected </i>is a compilation of some of their best
previously published tales covering sea captains, shipwrecks,
lighthouses, enterprising landlubbers, heroes, heroines, odd characters
and even a witch or two, edited and updated for a new generation of
readers. <br>
<br>
<i>Cape Odd is</i> a collection of unusual and overlooked stories about
the Cape, touching on such subjects as earthquakes, waterspouts,
mermaids, shark attacks, shipwrecks, accidents, crimes, religion,
meteorites, odd folks, flying machines, and various other flotsam and
jetsam.<br>
<i> <br>
</i>Jack Sheedy is the author of seven books and hundreds of published
articles and essays. Since 1989, Jack has served
on the writing team of the Barnstable Patriot's annual history
supplement; <i>Summerscape</i> recognized five times by the New England
Newspaper & Press Association for editorial excellence and is
currently a weekly contributor to the newspaper. He has lived
in Dennis, MA for more than 30 years.<br>
