BREWSTER, MA The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster is proud
to present Craig Dickson, WHOI Seaman and Photographer <b>Sunday, October
18, 2015 at 1pm.<br>
<br>
</b>A seaman for the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for 36 years,
Craig Dickson has<br>
passed over the Antarctic circle six times, the equator twelve times,
Woods Hole to Seattle ten times and passed through the Panama Canal
at least twelve times. During his tenure, he has been a Seaman and
messman on the <i>LuLu</i>, the original support vessel for the deep-sea
submersible <i>Alvin, Seaman, Bosun and Third Mate on the Atlantis II,
the replacement for the LuLu as support vehicle for the Alvin, Second
Mate on the Atlantis and Atlantis II and Third Mate on the Atlantis and
the Knorr. <br>
<br>
During his time at sea, Craig has taken thousands of photographs
chronicling the voyages<br>
and WHOI scientific and engineering teams that he has navigated around
the globe to far reaching destinations in search of
understanding</i> all facets of the ocean as well as its complex
connections with Earth’s atmosphere, land, ice, seafloor, and
lifeincluding humanity. <i>The Atlantis II and the Atlantis averaged
250-300 Alvin dives a year!<br>

Join Craig as he shares just some of these amazing photographs never
before seen by the public. Question & Answer period to follow.<br>
