Last year we filled the entire gym, with more than 55 participants, and saw more than 300 visitors. We are essentially the “Only Show in Town” during National Emergency Preparedness Month!

The informational tables include the “USUAL SUSPECTS” in Emergency Preparedness, like the Red Cross and Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. However, we have expanded and , taking an “outside the box” approach, included organizations that assist in community projects, outreach, health care and personal well-being because many of those projects and organizations assist individuals and families, enabling them to be more secure and stable when an emergency situation occurs. It is also a great platform for these organizations to possibly grow their membership.

Below is one of the PSA’s for additional information:

Falmouth Emergency Management Director Mark Sullivan and the Falmouth Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) are hosting a Community Emergency Preparedness Fair on Saturday, September 19, 2015, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Gus Canty Recreation Center.

We found that during the last several winter storms many of our community members who came to the shelter or sheltered in place were unprepared.
