BREWSTER, MA The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster
continues its popular archaeology/history series, <i>Digging into the
Past, </i>with avocational archaeologist Judy Macioci <b>Wednesday,
August 19, 2015 at 1pm.<br>
<br>
</b>The Wellfleet Tavern Site was an archaeological project excavated in
1972. Artifacts indicate there was an active tavern on the site at Great
Island in Wellfleet from 1690-1740. It served as a drinking and eating
establishment frequented by whalers, traders and locals. Learn how the
site was found, the excavation process, artifact identification and the
story about the people of the tavern. <br>
<br>
Naturalist Judy Macioci is a teacher at Mass Audubon in Marshfield
and an avocational archaeologist. Join Judy as she makes the exciting
detective work of an archaeologist fun and accessible to the amateur and
interested public alike.<br>

The presentation will be held at the Museum on Wednesday, August
19th at 1pm.<br>
