BREWSTER, MA The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster is proud
to present Bruce Strickrott, Chief Pilot and Group Manager of the WHOI
Deep Submergence Vehicle,<i> Alvin</i> <b>Monday, July 13, 2015 at
1pm.<br><br>
</b>Join Bruce for a rare look into the world under the sea. With over
300 dives as Pilot in Command, Bruce will take us on a journey of
discovery in deep ocean exploration via images and video to some of the
world’s most interesting and exotic areas around the globe.
Included in the presentation will be the history of the Alvin,
including Alvin’s involvement in the exploration of the RMS Titanic
in 1986, the skills required to pilot a sub, and the future of manned
diving operations with Alvin at WHOI, the Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institution.<br><br>
Bruce Strickrott is a Certified Deep Submergence Vehicle Pilot and has
worked as a member of the Alvin Group since 1996. He is also a Private
Pilot single engine land, and a sea PADI (Professional Association of
Diving Instructors) Rescue Diver.<br>
