EGGS & COOPS, presented by local farmer Leo Cakounes on
Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 1pm.

What comes first…the chicken or the egg? Come learn all about making
your own backyard chicken coop. Leo will discuss the different designs to
enable you to get started raising chickens, hatching eggs, housing and
feeding chickens, and maintaining a healthy flock. He will also discuss
the different species of chickens and the difference between
vegetarian-fed, organic, cage free and omega-3 enriched. What’s the
difference between white eggs and brown eggs? Why are some eggs
larger than others? Grade A, AA? What does it all mean and what
should you be choosing at the store? There is no sure-fire label to trust
unless you talk to your local egg vendor at the farmers’ market and we
have Leo Cakounes here to answer all your questions in an extremely
informative and fun-filled presentation.
