The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History marks the 394th
anniversary of the Pilgrim’s arrival on Cape Cod with a welcomed visit
from a Plimoth Plantation Colonial Speaker portraying a Pilgrim wife and
mother dressed in period costume and speaking 17th century English.
She will re-create for the audience the terrors of crossing the Atlantic
Ocean in the Mayflower, a leaky boat not much bigger than the museum’s
auditorium, during the raging storms of the north Atlantic in the fall of
1620 as well as harrowing stories of their survival during the first year
in the New World. Her presentation will be followed by a question and
answer period. <br>
<br>
After a short break, the museum will screen the movie, <b><i>“Desperate
Crossing – the Untold Story of the Mayflower and the Pilgrims”</i></b>
which was created by Plimoth Plantation and the History Channel. This
film is appropriate for ages 10 and up. Please join us for this exciting
program! <br>
